Not exactly. Normally exspheres are just a bunch of rocks in the ground. Useless but alive somehow.

But mankind is what found out you could unlock their potential through suffering and use them as power-ups.

I'm not trying to say you don't. But gruesome by chance is a lot different than intentional gruesome.

A group called the Desians back home found a way to unlock the gem's potential. By attaching it to a host body with no keycrest and putting the host body through physical and emotional torture, the gem awakens and starts to absorb the host body's soul. Eventually the host dies and the gem is fully ready to be used. They did all this in human ranches.

My gem is called a Cruxis Crystal, so it's even stronger than the normal exsphere. Most people don't know that's how they're made. I didn't know for a long time. Though I guess part of that was blissful ignorance.
